Phabeni Heritage Safari Camp

Where Heritage, Conservation, and Community Meet.

Our vision

Phabeni Heritage Safari is a journey of return, reconnecting ancestral memory with the landscapes of Kruger. Rooted in heritage and inspired by a commitment to conservation, the project transforms a history of displacement into renewed opportunity through sustainable tourism, community participation, and responsible hospitality.
It stands as a living bridge between culture and nature, welcoming all who believe in protecting wildlife, preserving natural habitats, and creating shared prosperity within the Kruger landscape.

Area

At the western edge of Kruger National Park, between Hazyview and Skukuza. The Phabeni area forms part of a living biosphere shaped by the flow of the Sabie River, sustaining a rich mosaic of flora and fauna.
Along its banks lies a diverse ecosystem with tree species such as Tamboti and Sycamore Fig, and an abundant variety of birdlife. The area has also one of the highest concentrations of white rhinos in Kruger National Park.
Having all this natural richness makes Phabeni a place of deep ecological and cultural importance and it is precisely why Phabeni Heritage Safari aims to develop a sustainable safari camp here: a space designed to interpret, and celebrate the living landscape through sustainable design, community participation, education and responsible inclusive tourism.
